Evaluating cell activation, killing and movement as a function of time

TECHNOLOGY WORKFLOWS PLATFORM

Dynamic single-cell analysis

CellChorus provides analysis of how thousands of individual cells move, interact, survive, die and secrete biomolecules. Although the platform evaluates thousands of cells, CellChorus provides data for individual cells and cell-cell interactions. This is called dynamic single-cell analysis.

Other methods of studying cellular activity lack the ability to integrate dynamic cellular behavior with molecular behavior at the single‑cell level. The company’s TIMING™ (Time-lapse Imaging Microscopy in Nanowell Grids) platform applies visual AI to evaluate cell activation, killing and movement as a function of time in order to maximize our understanding of cellular function, state and phenotype.

The platform has broad application across antibodies, cell therapies, vaccines and other technologies, as shown in publications from leading journals such as Blood, Clinical Cancer Research, Nature Immunology, JITC, the Journal of Immunology, and Science Advances.

Conventional approaches versus CellChorus

CONVENTIONAL

Bulk live cell imaging

  • Population level assay (with limited single-cell tracking)

  • Evaluates effects on target cells

  • Does not measure cytokine secretion for individual cells or correlate with killing

  • No subcellular tracking

  • Unable to link with downstream profiling at single-cell resolution

CELLCHORUS

Dynamic single-cell analysis

  • True single-cell mapping of individual functional outcomes (serial killing, activation-induced cell death, etc.)

  • True single-cell measurement of secreted biomolecules (cytokines)

  • True single-cell tracking of subcellular function (mitochondrial and lysosomal dynamics)

  • Retrieval of individual cells of interest for scRNA-seq

The CellChorus platform is broadly applicable across a variety of cell types and applications. Whereas life science researchers have benefitted from significant advances in single-cell analysis, CellChorus goes beyond static assaying. With TIMING, life sciences innovators can watch new biology and gain new and unexpected understandings of how cells move, activate, kill and survive.
